Token-approval / revoke literacy pack
Free literacy excerpt. Educational content only — not investment advice. We never ask for your seed phrase.
Free excerpt — three checks before you approve
- What am I authorizing? An approval (allowance) is not the same as a transfer. An approval tells a smart contract it may move tokens later, up to a limit you set (sometimes “unlimited”).
- Who is the spender? On a public explorer, look at the spender / contract address field for approval events. If you do not recognize it, pause. Screenshots in chats are not a substitute for checking the explorer yourself.
- Is this a revoke site I typed from memory? Fake “revoke” dashboards are a common phishing pattern. Prefer flows described in your wallet’s official documentation. Never enter a seed phrase into any revoke page—legitimate revoke tools do not need your seed.
What this excerpt is not
Not a list of protocols to use or avoid. Not investment advice. Not a promise that revoking approvals recovers stolen funds.
